Engage LADAR Experts to Speed Your Growth

“There is still a great unmet need for LADAR sensors with robust performance at a compelling price point”

ARCHITECTURE

Flash LADAR, Scanning LADAR, Probabilistic Scan LADAR, FMCW LADAR, Selective Sector Flash, Rotating Scan, Resonant Scan, Direct/Indirect Time-of-Flight (DTOF/ITOF), Electronically Steered Scan, Servo Steered Scan, and hybrid combinations of these attributes can provide your organization an optimum approach to attaining your design goals.

Start with the IP

You are investing in an engineered product. If it is worthy of an investment, it should be something you cannot already buy. This is the novelty aspect of patent regulations. Timely patent applications can protect your investment and provide barriers to entry to potential competition. While we do not provide legal services, we can edit or draft the technical specifications.

Evaluate and Develop

We can evaluate your existing IP, or assist in the development of new patent applications. For instance it can be very useful to anticipate equivalent designs.

Proven Capability

Someone once said “experience is the best teacher” and it is certainly true. We learn from our successes as well as our failures and those of others. Our founder and Principal Engineer, Patrick Gilliland has received 81 US patent awards, and counting.

The outline of a successful IP and product development comprises a series of steps. It is first necessary to gain a comprehensive understanding of the application, and then to review a series of potential solutions, each an architectural variant. Every architectural variation poses technical challenges and limitations. There are often opportunities for development of new components, or extending the performance of existing ones to enable the optimal solution.

Mr. Gilliland has been awarded US patents for fiber optic transmitters and receivers, electro-optical components and packaging, LADAR systems and components, and power conversion apparatus. These patents have been licensed to a dozen US and international companies for many tens of millions US in fees to the sponsors and assignees.
